Foundation for Amateur Radio, Inc.
Meeting Minutes
Wednesday June 13, 2007

The meeting was held at the Prince George’s County
Fire and Emergency Services Building in Landover,
Maryland.  Dan Blasberg, KA8YPY President called the
meeting to order at 8:04 p.m.

Four people attended the meeting.

Treasurer’s Report:

No Report Filed.

Executive Vice President’s Report:

William Hatfield, W3QX announced the absence of the
Scholarship Committee due to the fact that they were
meeting this evening to determine the scholarship
winners. We also need volunteers to update and
maintain the club’s web site otherwise we will have to
budget and pay to have this done. On the web page we
could possibly give a paragraph or two with bio on
clubs. We will need to renew our domain name and
hosting. William will get with John (acting treasurer)
to accomplish. Discussion on the contents of what
should be on the web page followed.


Secretary Report – Motion to approve the minutes from
the April meeting was made by Hugh, K3HU and seconded
by William, W3QX. Motion carried. Bill, N3WD has
created a book for the secretary items. Bill is
working on recovering and updating club information
into an Access database with Word mail merge to create
club application forms. Club applications should be
available on the web page. There were some minor
changes to the original form to fit current
conditions. Bill needs current by-laws and articles of
incorporation for the secretary’s book. Dan, KA8YPY
will get these to Bill.


Scholarship Committee Report:

No Report


No ARRL Report was given. 




FAR-Fest Report:

Dan, KA8YPY report the possibility of looking for a
place to hold a tailgate only event but has received
no answers from place he has queried. We could do a
dinner as a fundraiser. Dan is still looking for more
ideas to raise funds for this year. Discussion
followed on various ideas for possible fundraisers.
Dan will look into holding a possible Bull and Oyster
roast in the (November, December, January) time frame.
>From here on the FAR-Fest report will be changed to
Fundraising Report.

New Business:

Announcements:

W3BE is home a recuperating from heart surgery.

Fathers day hamfest June 18th.

Field Day June 23rd and 24th

Brats Hamfest July 22nd

Berryville Aug 5th

A Field Day discussion followed.


Motion to adjourn was made by Hugh, K3HU and seconded
by William, W3QX at 9:05 p.m. Motion carried.

The next Foundation for Amateur Radio meeting is
scheduled for Wednesday August 8th, 2007 beginning at
8 p.m. The meeting location will be the Prince
George’s County Fire and Emergency Services Building
in Landover, Maryland
