MINUTES
Meeting of The Foundation for Amateur Radio, Inc.
July 14, 2006

The meeting was held at the Lee Center in Alexandria, Virginia.  Mary
Morris, N4TCI, called the meeting to order at 8:20 pm.

The both the June and May minutes were approved as presented.

Acting Treasurer, John Chitwood, K3RGB, gave the treasurer's report.  The
report was accepted as presented.

It was moved and seconded and voted that the executive board including the
acting treasurer meets within 90 days for July 14, to discuss finances.

Vice-President’s report  – Vice President William Hatfield -W3QX reported on
our Web site efforts.  Ed Herbrechtsmeier, K3QX, continues to improve the
new a new FAR web page.  www.farweb.org goes directly to the site.  The
original link, www.amateurradio-far.org, is still in use.

We discussed declining attendance at meetings – may be time to hold only an
annual meeting as required in the by-laws.

F.A.R. Fest –F.A.R. Fest Chairman Dan Blasberg -KA8YPY reported that the
hamfest continues to follow its schedule. Dates for the event are Saturday,
September 9 and Sunday, September 10 at the Montgomery County (MD)
Agricultural Center (Fairgrounds) in Gaithersburg.  Need for volunteers
especially for the gates.

Old Business:  No progress yet on the by-laws rewrite.

The meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.

The location of the next FAR meeting will be at Fire and Emergency Services
building in Landover, Maryland.
