MINUTES
Meeting of The Foundation for Amateur Radio, Inc.
March  8, 2006

The meeting was held at the Lee Center in Alexandria, Virginia.  Mary
Morris, N4TCI, called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm.

The February minutes were approved as presented.

Acting Treasurer, John Chitwood, K3RGB, gave the treasurer's report.  The
report was accepted as presented.

Vice-President’s report  - Vice President William Hatfield, W3QX, reported
on our Web site efforts.  Ed Herbrechtsmeier, K3QX, is building the
replacement web page.  Soon, we will have a new, simpler link to the web
page.  It will be www.farweb.org <http://www.farweb.org>.  The original
link, www.amateurradio-far.org <http://www.amateurradio-far.org>, is still
in use.   The new web is still delayed because our home page provider hasn’t
updated software needed for  the new page format.

William, W3QX, began a discussion about trade marking “Investing in the
future of Amateur Radio” A motion was considered but tabled .  The topic
will be discussed at the next meeting.

William is looking into directors and officers insurance.

Charlie Thompson is designing a new FAR Banner.  The cost will be
approximately  $150.

Tom Abernaethy, W3TOM, gave the ARRL report.

F.A.R. Fest - Dan Blasberg, KA8YPY, reminded us the 2006 hamfest will be
September 9 and 10 at Gaithersburg.  We are 6 month away from the hamfest.
Montgomery County ARC will do the talk in.  Volunteers needed for the event.

Old Business:  No progress yet on the by-laws rewrite.

·	March 25-26 - The Greater Baltimore Hamboree at the Timonium Fairgrounds
in Maryland
·	June 4  - Manassas hamfest at Prince William County Fairgrounds
·	July 29 - July 29 - 2006 Maryland State ARRL Amateur Radio Convention  at
the educational building of Otterbein U.M. Church, 108 E. Franklin St,
Hagerstown. MD.

The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.

The location of the next FAR meeting will be at Fire and Emergency Services
building in Landover, Maryland.
