Stephen,

The term "Comm Trailer" is more or less a misnomer. It is, in actuality,

a crank-up tower with wheels.

Curtis:

How many transmitters are we running, and will any be set up for CW
operation (with rig control / winkeyer)? Will the generator support bringing
another rig / computer? Are we going to have a GOTA station? Attempt to make
a satellite contact for extra points?

I'm not familiar with the Comm Trailer - will we operate from inside of it,
or will we have a tent or canopy for weather protection?

73,

Steven, W3SFG

Field Day 2013 is nearly upon us. 22 JUNE - 23 JUNE are the dates this
year.

We will be holding this years Field Day activities in the (parking lot) or
near the Front Entrance to the Guilford Drive Walmart.

This year we are opting for visability, vs total contacts. Although
contacts are important, educating the public on who we are and what we do is
more important. We will be staffing the setup for the complete 24 hour
period, so if you've never been to a field day, or are an old pro at them,
we could use you. Even only a few hours available, sign up and stop on by.

We have a few volunteers already, but will need to have at least two folks
there for the duration. We'll not be hard to spot as we are bringing the
comm trailer, and that will enable quick setup of the vertical antennas, as
well as a possible anchor point for the long wire.

Power will be generated from our small generator, and logging should be set
up for network mode to avoid dupes.

Restroom facilities, and the ability to purchase snacks and drinks at
WalMart.

Banners and Club information will be up.

It will need to be covered from Noon on the 22nd till about 4PM on the 23rd.
So we need those that can do a shift to speak up and let us know when you
can be there. We are aiming for numbers this time. Even if you can only do
a few hours, that will provide breaks to those running the longer shifts.
You can email me @ kb3whx at kb3whx.com
<mailto:kb3whx at kb3whx.com?Subject=Field_Day_Prep> and I'll start up a shift
and coverage sheet for the event. I will be running early on 22 June to
pick up the trailer, and get it to where it's going.

Lets make this the public event it should be, and get the word out about
what we do. Education is a wonderful thing.
