Hello FARC;

Yes, I concur that the meeting time should be used to address the major
items as directly related to the club itself. For those interested, the
quick presentations will cover some basic information, and handouts with
links and general guidance on keeping your computers running optimally.
These will be presented after the meeting concludes for any interested
parties.

Incidentally, the handouts are available on the DropBox, link already
provided. This in part, is to begin the introduction of "Collaborative
Tools" to everyone, and begin to bring them into the picture.

The motions that I will offer involve the use of talents of our membership,
currently limited by numbers. The premise is that, currently there are few,
outside the officers, that are being engaged in meaningful tasks and
positions for which they are suited. This creates the impression, that the
membership is just wanted for their time at events, and the dues they pay.
Time is important, otherwise events and things like field day do not happen.
Dues although important, should not be the driving force. Once we begin to
correct the focus, and have something meaningful to offer other than a
business meeting once a month, something meaningful and interesting to
potential new members, then that will assist us in turning around the
numbers problem.

Each of us, has something that we can offer to the social fabric of the
club. For instance, W3SFG, and KB3WHX are two of the folks that are (
Internet WEB / Blog / Computer / Social Media) folks. KB3FIO is a consummate
organizer for events, K3HCP is an excellent writer, KB3RNT is an excellent
web resource, and a little new information and or technology will go very
far with him. This is just to name a few, all of us have talents and areas
of expertise. The new site makes it very easy for the chosen people to
contribute to the site. But that is just one aspect of the re-focus.

Back to the motions, here is a summary:

I will motion that three (and one potential forth) non officer positions are
created, and the tasking associated with them be assigned to (Coordinator
Positions) along with a backup position so we do not have a single point of
failure. These coordinator positions should be using collaborative
information sharing technology to insure that communications happen
effectively. Because of the current limited numbers there may be some
multitasking going on until we get the numbers up.

1. Membership Coordinator: Tracks Membership / Mailing / Email / Listserve /

Coordinates with Treasurer for dues tracking. Maintains the list on the
website (New, if adopted, in the membership database built in.)
Coordinates using collaborative tools, all dues paid. Also, these folks are
the face of FARC at events, and are the folks that show up at most of the
current events anyways, since the club is more a social club for HAMS, let
us leverage this aspect using existing folks.

2. Educational or Media Coordinator: Maintains the club repository of
information.

This is not yet in existence much, so the library will be created. The new
Web Site (if adopted) will provide a repository of digital information.
Coordinates using collaborative tools, all physical media received or
purchased. Maintains the digital library of items/information.

3. Events Coordinator: Maintains club sponsored/involved Events.

Maintains the events calendar on the Web site (if adopted). Coordinates
using collaborative tools, all event planning.

4. Web Coordinator: This one is questionable at this time. (only if new site
adopted.)

Because the new web presence is interactive, and much more functional in
many aspects, logins for key folks needs to be maintained. Until folks
understand the backend of the site, and even after this training someone
will need to remain as the "Owner of the (frederickarc.org) domain."

The potential last motion I will refrain from covering here, but involves
change, and we know how change is perceived.

With that, I remain, committed to the revitalization,

We have .04 cents, to which I have added another .02, bringing our current
total to .06 cents. Anyone else?

Curtis - KB3WHX
