Frederick Amateur Radio Club “Approved” (FARC) Minutes For February 20, 
2012 .

Meeting: The club meeting was called to order at 7:04pm by President Jim 
Ridgley - N3HTA

Introductions: See Attendees

Last Months Minutes: Accepted as read (Corrections - One) Approved: YES

New Licenses: Dennis Campbell - KB3WLJ

Upgrades: None

Treasurer Report: $2,660.96 Checking Account, $12,733.78 in a CD 
maturing 3-3-2012. There was discussion about reducing monthly checking 
account cost by exploring other banks providing the services we need at 
lower costs. Also how the CD will be rolled over was discussed. That 
will be explored by the outgoing and incoming Treasurers.

New Member Application(s): Dennis Campbell - KB3WLJ & Curtis Campbell - 
KB3WHX . Both were approved for membership by voice vote.

Old or Ongoing Business: Joe Durnal - NE3R is stepping down as Treasurer 
because of his busy schedule and a lot of traveling. Jim appointed Mark 
Whitmore - AB3KS for the Treasurers job. There was no objection from the 
membership in attendance.

- Club Radio Station. Joe Durnal - NE3R will stay after the meeting and 
we will have an orientation of the club station.

-By Laws - Jeff Fishman - KB3FIO has sent a copy to Lou Popowsky - 
KB3RNT for posting on the club web site. When posted, the membership 
will be notified via the Reflector at which time the membership can 
comment on them for acceptance.

Committee Reports:

-ARES - Jeff Fishman - KB3FIO displayed the new banner. The March of 
Dimes event is coming up in March. More to come on that. The State is 
considering putting Base Stations in selected Health Department 
locations. Jeff Fishman - KB3FIO holds a net every Monday evening at 
7:30pm on 147.060 MHz.

-RACES - There was a communications exercise (Comex) on 147.060 MHz on 
2-14-2012. Jim Devilbliss will have a local net the 2nd. and 4th. Monday 
of the month at 8:30pm 448.425 MHz with a PL tone of 100.0 .

-Misc - Phil Stalnaker - W3ICF gave a report on how the D-Star repeater 
implementation is going. The frequency of the repeater will be 444.800 
MHz with a Call Sign of KB3YBN.

-Skywarn - Several classes to train spotters are scheduled in the 
following areas:

FLOOD - 3-13-2012 at Ranson, WV Basic I - 3-26-2012 at Westminster, MD
Basic I - 4-4-2012 at Sterling Park, VA Basic I - 4-19-2012 at 
Charlottesville, VA
Basic I - 4-26-2012 at Columbia, MD Basic I - 5-12-2012 at Gaithersburg, MD
Tropical 5-14-2012 at La Plata, MD Basic I - 5-15-2012 at Washington, DC

Flood - 5-23-2012 at Leonardtown, MD
