Old or Ongoing Business:
- Field Day – Jim Ridgley asked if the Frederick News-Post made an
appearance? Jeff Fishman - KB3FIO had sent a notice to a contact but
never heard back. There was nothing in the paper either. Barbara
Rosswell from the Health Department came by and made a visit giving the
club gave an extra 100 points for Field Day.
Antennas were set up Friday afternoon on the top deck of the garage and
equipment was set up on the deck below. The router provided by Curtis
Campbell - KB3WHX made logging manageable without entering duplicates.
The station was operating until around midnight on Saturday and
continued on Sunday at about 9:00 am. Several HAM’s did show up and some
participated with contact activities. 180 contacts were made by Sunday
afternoon.
- Treasurer Records – The issue with club treasurer records is being
solved. Mark Whitmore - AB3KS , our treasurer, is working his way
through recently acquired records and will have more details next month.
Mark will expect to have a budget for the rest of the year.
Committee Reports:
- By Laws – Changes to the By Laws are still being worked on.
- RACES – Nothing going on at this time.
- ARES – Jeff Fishman - KB3FIO provided information on the National
Multiple Sclerosis Society hosting a
one day bike ride based out of Linganore Winecellars in Mt. Airy
scheduled for September 29th, 2012.
The event will cover 14, 35, and 63 miles in length. About 300
participants are expected for which approximately 5-7 or more HAM
volunteers might be needed. In order to ensure the safety of our
cyclists HAM's can be stationary or mobile, whichever is easier.
- SKYWARN – Jim Ridgley thanked Jeff Fishman for bringing up the net
during a recent very destructive storm on 6-29-12.
- Club Station Report – After moving the station the station is up and
running again since the cables were long enough to reach. Jeff Fishman
checked out everything and the station is working fine. Lighting could
be improved and will be addressed at a future time.
- Club Station Equipment – The club owns several pieces of equipment
that can be checked out by any member for temporary use. Mark Whitmore
will bring a list of know equipment to let everybody know what items
could be loaned out. Jeff Fishman asked if the club antenna analyzer is
in a members possession right now.
