FARC and ARES Members,
We will be emailing out the previous meeting minutes every month in an effort to keep the members who didnt make the meeting up to date on the club and ARES activities. This also keeps us a little "greener" by reducing printing. If you have any corrections or additions, please email them to FARC Secretary Jim Gillespie at gillesmj at earthlink.net.
Our next club meeting will be Sept. 20, 7 PM, at Independent Hose Co. This month's presentation will be by FARC Vice President Lou Popowsky who will follow up last year's soldering clinic with "Connectors and Coaxial Cables". He will show us how to properly attach those tricky 259 connectors and then test them to make sure you didn't screw it up!
See you then.
73,
Jeff KB3FIO
FARC Pres.
Minutes
Frederick Amateur Radio Club
August 16, 2010
The meeting was called to order by President Jeff Fishman, KB3FIO.
Minutes of the July meeting were passed out by secretary, Jim Gillespie, K3DQ, read, and approved.
The treasurer, Joe Durnal, NE3R, could not attend but emailed the treasurer's report. He reported:
CD account Matured August 3, 2010 at $13,860.52.
Checking account balance was $768.18
To get a reasonable CD rate required a 13 month term which a total reinvestment
would have left us without enough of a liquid balance to cover the club's expenses for the term.
$300.00 was taken from the matured CD and put into checking bringing the balance to $2005.78.
The new CD investment of $12,560.52 @ 1.194% APR will mature on September 3, 2011 with an
expected value of $12,724.45, earning $163.93.
Jim Ridgley, N3HTA, reminded everyone club dues are due in January and should be paid if not already done.
There were no new members and no license upgrades.
