No internet connectivity last year.  The attendees know nothing about
frequency or modes.  To them they talked into a microphone and heard a voice
coming out of a speaker and thought that was cool.

 

The new-old (TS-700A) rig I got looks like HF since it has lots of knobs on
it and is like a desktop transceiver.  I'm all for doing it for real but I'm
not too proud to fake it if need be.

 

Perhaps band conditions will be better this year.

 

Digital modes are cool to real hams but not too cool to computer whiz-kids.
It will look like the internet IM to them with some extra noise.
