Bold italics mine.
What to bring to the exam site:
Money to cover the exam fee if any, and they want the exact amount in cash,
you'll need to find out what it is.
The original plus 2 copies of your current Technician or Technician Plus license.
Also, if you haven't yet received your Tech license, then make sure you bring
the original plus 2 copies of the current CSCE indicating your current license
status. Some people take the General exam immediately or nearly so
after taking the Technician exam, before the FCC sends out their
Technician license and the VET will need proof you passed your Technician
exam.
Any current CSCE giving you credit for 5 WPM code test. This probably doesn't
apply anymore because code isn't required for any license now. But bring
your current original CSCE plus 2 copies just in case somebody wants it.
A photo ID card, like a drivers license.
Some sharp pencils and fine-tip pens.
Calculators may be used, but if it is a scientific calculator examiners may ask you to
clear the memory while they are watching. They may want you to clear the memory
even if it isn't a scientific calculator.
Any other items the VET ask you to bring.
Good luck, relax, and have fun, your new HF rig is beckoning for you.

Subject: [FARC] How to move up to General class?
Hey all,
I got my Technician license in February 2008 and would like to
upgrade to the General license. Anne Arundel County offers a test on
the 13th that I am planning on attending; I've been studying and can
consistently score 34/35 or 35/35 on practice exams. My question is
this: do I need to have a current CSCE for a Technician class license,
or is my current license sufficient to act as credit, or will they
need me to take two exams, or will they say, "tough luck, kid!"? I'm
just a little confused, and I don't want to drive 2 hours to take an
exam, just to find out that it won't do me any good. Any advice would
be great!
Thanks!

PS: I need to take the exam to get my independent study credits out
of the way for Shepherd University; that's why I'm in such a fuss.
