For those interested in digital sound card applications for Ham radio, the Ham Radio Deluxe (HRD) suite, which includes Digital Master 780 (DM-780), is a real nice one.  A free download although they do accept donations.  http://www.ham-radio-deluxe.com/  The HRD suite does rig control and logging for those interested in that also.   Sound card modes you'll be able to operate; PSK31, RTTY, Olivia, MT63, CW, MFSK16, Feld-Hell, and others.  

If you just want to sample listening to the various digital modes, download the HRD suite and listen to:  PSK31 20m 14.070.15, 40m 7.038, 7.040;  Olivia 20m 14.107.50; RTTY 20m 14.080 to 14.098.  You don't need a digital interface to listen, but you do need a cable to go from the computer sound card to your radio's external speaker jack or other jury-rig set-up you may design.   

HRD suite runs fine on Windows XP, I have not tried it on Windows Vista.
