I imagine few will finally stop using Windows 98 and ME when XP support
finally comes to an end. This simply means XP as well will live long into
the future without updates. Besides, when was the last time Microsoft
helped you with a problem?
As long as the knowledge base remains available to help users with any
issues, everyone should be fine.
I run DOS, 95, 98, and ME from time to time without problems on a very old
CPU in order to recover and transfer files from older disk drives. XP is my
operating system of choice on every computer in daily use. I run one new
Vista machine as a constant reminder that I want to keep XP.
Long live Apple and OS X.
