Anthony,
The cable used for CAT-TV is 75 ohm coax usually RG-59 or some such, usually a
better grade. The J-pole should be tuned at center freq for 50 ohm impedance to
match the radio output stage. SO, you'll have a bit more loss than you would with
the proper impedance coax (unless the "proper" coax has a higher loss factor.)
Anyway, you've done well getting something up for better listening but do check it
with an SWR meter or ant analyzer before you transmit on it.
