A motion was made at the January Frederick Amateur Radio Club meeting
to no longer provide autopatch capabilities on one or more of the club
repeaters. To give club members a chance to provide input on this
issue, it was decided that the vote would be delayed until the
regularly scheduled meeting in February.
Maintaining the two telephone lines for the repeater autopatch is the
club's second largest expense at $56/month or $672/yr. There will be
some continued cost that may be required to provide alternate control
links to the repeater, we expect that eliminating the autopatch
requirement will greatly reduce our repeater related expenses.
I encourage all members who would like to comment and vote on this
motion to join us at our regularly scheduled meeting on Monday,
February 18, at 7:00PM at the Independent Hose Company station 310
Baughmans Lane in Frederick. If you can not attend, but would like to
your input to be read at the meeting, please respond to this message
by Friday, February 15.
This message has been sent to the FARC e-mail reflector and to all who
provided their e-mail address on the FARC membership application.
