[FARC] HRO/XYL Beware

I received from Santa (the XYL) yesterday a Palstar AT-1500CV antenna tuner.  I had asked Santa for a Vectronics HFT-1500 antenna tuner.   The XYL then told me what HRO talked her into doing.  

HRO Springfield VA. could not get any Vectronics HFT-1500 antenna tuners by Christmas or at any time saying there were supply problems, even way back before Thanksgiving when the XYL made the road trip to HRO Springfield.  So HRO talked the XYL into buying the Palstar AT-1500CV tuner saying it was a higher quality antenna tuner for less money.   I checked the most recent Amateur Electronic Supply (AES) catalog for Palstar antenna tuners and the AT-1500CV is not listed in Palstar's current antenna tuner line-up.  The Palstar AT-1500CV evidently is an older, out of production model.  

Has anyone had any experience with Palstar antenna tuners and specifically with the Palstar AT-1500CV?   I'm just wondering if what HRO told the XYL is true and the Palstar antenna tuner is actually a higher quality model than the Vectronics.  I have a Vectronics VC-300DLP antenna tuner already and it is junk, so I'm intrigued by the Palstar unit.
