[FARC] Winlink 2k/WN3R-10

I have some questions about Winlink 2000 and the WN3R-10 experimental Packet node.

What is Winlink 2000, what is its purpose, who was it designed for?

If  WN3R-10 is an experimental Winlink 2000 Packet node for use with software called AIRMAIL, what is it trying to test or evaluate and for whom?  

What does any other Ham group in the country use Winlink 2000 Packet nodes and AIRMAIL for?
