[FARC] Quick question for anyone

Hi Josh,

Most of the single band 2 meter rigs are pretty much the same. I have
the Icom IC-V8000 in my car. The two things I like most about it are
the front firing speaker and the microphone that has all of the radio
functions on it. The mic is also what I like least about it, I'm on
my 3rd in 4 years :). I also don't like that it doesn't have a 50
watt setting. It goes from 25 on mid to 75 on high. Most say not to
run that rig very much at 75 watts, and I rarely do.

Depending on your mounting location, you may want to consider and
external speaker like an MFJ-281 which goes for about 13$ on most
online sites.

Also, if you order over $100 from Ham Radio Outlet in Virginia, they
ship for free, and it is fast, if I order before 11am, I generally get
it the next day via UPS ground.
