[FARC] GPS interconnections

Thanks to all for your suggestions/comments on my request for info on GPS  
connections. It would appear at this time that any GPS units configured with USB 
 connections are not compatible with Kenwood gear. I did find a wiring 
diagram  for USB cables but it gives only data out and not in, as required by the 
Kenwood  as well as a software program that will convert the USB data to serial 
NMEA.  Unfortunately, this would require carrying a laptop in the vehicle to 
interface  to the radio. Anyone looking to purchase a GPS for APRS apps would 
be well  advised to do your home work prior to purchase and look for older 
units with the  serial  output.                  Once again, thanks  and  -73-.
