[FARC] FARC Meeting Reminder - Monday 10/15/07

Don't forget the October Frederick Amateur Radio Club meeting:

- Monday October 15th 2007, 7:00 PM, at the Independent Hose Company on 
Baughman's Lane.

This month's program will be a talk by Jim Devilbiss, WA3FUJ, who is the 
Frederick County RACES Radio Officer, on the status of RACES and RACES 
activities in the County. 

Continuing on the theme of emergency services, we will hear a 
presentation by two key people involved in emergency response in the 
Damascus fire district of Montgomery County, Julie Sain, who heads up 
the Damascus Emergency Preparedness Team (DEPT), and Dick Dobson WA1KQP, 
who is with the Damascus Emergency Communications Team (DECT).  The DEPT 
and DECT are organized under the CERT umbrella in Montgomery County, and 
their organization and start-up/growth experiences can serve as good 
models for local emergency response teams in Frederick County or 
anywhere else, for that matter.

This promises to be an interesting and hopefully stimulating meeting.  
In deference to our guests from Montgomery County, we will defer the 
Club business portion of the meeting until after their presentations.
