The "Family Hour DX Net" site ( http://www.w7pho.com/ ) looks to have
some pretty useful information on it, both for DX-oriented folks and for
a more general audience.
Two links on the site that I'd recommend for anyone are the "RFI" link
and the "Operating Practices" link.
I'd vote for the "Operating Practices" link to be required reading for
everyone who uses the Ham bands. It's a good primer and refresher on
Ham Radio operating "best practices", imo.
Also, whether it's meant to be or not, reading through "Operating
Practices" could be an intro to English usage by non-native speakers,
which you're bound to encounter if you do much chatting or ragchewing in
HF SSB, or nowadays, Echolink. It's not necessarily "bad" English, it's
just not "American" English, so it may take some getting used to. Kind
of like what I go through talking with someone from Alabama or
Mississippi or elsewhere down that way, y'knowi'msayin'? Or maybe from
Maine or Mass. (can't ever remember how to spell that). Or maybe ...
And I can only guess at what those good folks go through, trying to
understand me. ;-)
Thanks for pointing out the net, Kirk. I for one had never heard of it.
