The program for the Monday, April 16th Frederick Amateur Radio Club
meeting will be a presentation by Joe, NE3R on the National Traffic
System (NTS.

Although the NTS may seem like an artifact of those long-ago
pre-internet, pre-cellphone days, it is actually an up-to-date and
indispensable communications tool that time and again proves its value
during emergencies, when everyday communications channels are overloaded
and/or unavailable. Every Amateur Radio Operator should be familiar
with how the system works and what it takes to participate in this
important function.

The meeting will start at 7:00 PM sharp. Mark your calendars: Monday,
April 16, 2007!

And don't forget, the new meeting place is at the Independent Hose
Company #1 fire station, located at 310 Baughmans Lane in Frederick.

Further info and a map are available on the FARC web site,
http://www.qsl.net/k3erm/ . Click on the "Meeting" link from the home
page and most other pages.

Come and check out our new meeting place. You'll see that the room that
the IHC is letting us use is VERY comfortable and well-equipped,
compared to various facilities we've used in the past.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Visitor parking at the fire station is located on the flagpole side of
the building, to the left of the building as you face it from Baughmans
Lane, and behind the building. Please do not park on the right side of
the building, which is reserved for station staff.

- Enter the building by the double doors near the flagpoles. Proceed
straight ahead, then turn right at the next corridor, and go through the
door at the end of the corridor. This door opens into the station's
equipment bays. The meeting room is at the top of the metal stairs to
your right. If you would like some help negotiating the stairs, FARC
members will be happy to assist. If the weather is mild, the equipment
bay doors may be open, and it is OK to enter that way as well.

- Rest rooms are located on the first floor, down the corridor to the
left of the double doors where you entered the building.
