Yes we are working on the keystone link, I'm still in need of 1 possibly
2 96k UHF radios, I looking for something inexpensive presently to get
since there's no grant funding here presently.
Presently we have a VHF switch and a digi, switch is on the coordinated
freq. for GNV and the DIgi is on the 145.030 so that the Marion test can
be done on the RMS till we have a solid backbone. I'm replacing the
switch radio, the original one got spiked from a bad power supply. A
donated Astro Spectra was provide for the swap out, I just need to wire
it back to the tnc and it will be good to go.
PSAP Public Safety Answer Point, (CCC 911 Center) 2621 Hawthorne Rd.
GNV. it's the dot on the map, the present location of the switch is at
a tower where there is not a wifi available to it, and the county fiber
is only voice for the repeaters no Ethernet, I've been tring for 2 years
to get a MiniMux on that site, but the powers to be won't budget for it,
they would rather pay high price fiber.
I will be moving it back to my office (PSAP)where the Telpac/RMS unit
is. Unfortunately I lose a few feet. The antennas for VHF/UHF are at
175ft and the new location will be 100ft self supported but I can hear
and talk to Keystone and Ocala at my lower testing tower at 45ft so it
will work.
And
HeI know Charlie would really appreciate me putting it at a network
source so he can update it when ever he needs to. I'll have to install
a couple of antennas and feedlines at the new site and it will be back
to normal.

Philip-
KE4PWE-10 is current on the map today (Feb 21)
http://www.winlink.org/RMSPacketPositions
With KE4PWE-10 in place the map reflects better the position of the
"N. FL. Loop."
The slide for the power point presentation was made as much as 14 days
before HamCation - must have caught you will the RMS down.
"PSAP" site - can you elaborate more on antenna types, height, etc?
Hopefully you have a UHF that will link with Keystone and another that
will link with Ocala (Marion) and a vhf for user LAN. I may have some
ideas on radios soon.
Internet connection at a switch site is not mandatory but is most
valuable - The switch site is the center point of the user LAN and
having an RMS there is important, especially if the site is hardened
(as most switch sites are - or should be!)
How far out in the boonies is the PSAP site? Perhaps a wi-fi bridge
could be used.
Getting a switch working between Keystone Hts. and Ocala will be a
major step toward closing the "N. FL. Loop." Orlando-DeLand-DAB-St.
Augustine - Orange Park - Middleburg - Keystone Hts - Gainesville -
Ocala - The Villages - Lake County - back to Orlando!
