Chuck, and other FADCA ops
I spoke with Richard Sharp, KQ4KX, trustee for wc4pem, He likes what all is
coming about on the switch for bartow. Now, some questions he has,
1) on the backbone frequency, does it or can it be 1 frequency?
2) if one freq., can Bartow use an omni (160') as part of a redundiant
system between tpa, arcadia, and clearmont?
3) could Bartow possibly be a HUB location?
4) will there be a need for internet access on the FPAC part?
5) how many ports can this switch go to?
6) what modifacations are needed for the KPC-3 +?

In talking with Richard, there are ongoing projects taking place at this
time
so the NEED IT NOW is not numeral uno. Projected turn on can be anywhere
from 3 months to 9 months from Febuary or March... (tower rebuild) as for
now
I hope to get a KPC-3+ to Chuck at ORL Hamfest or sooner if he travles
through
Polk county anytime soon.

Back to you Chuck.

Evans

The ideal would be a dedicated link out from your site to each neighbor
site but we all have cost constraints.

Yes, that would be a good solution, the only readily available 220 Mhz
radio that does 9k6 that I can think of at this moment is the Tait radio.

There maybe some amateur boxes out there that will do 9k6, we will have
to investigate. We would need to obtain a radio for this end.

I think we can probably do a triad of Tampa Arcadia and Bartow on
the same frequency since we can hear and most of the time work Arcadia.
That way you could make do with one radio on that path.

You will most definitly need a second set radio to deal with the east
bound path. If all were on the same freq you are in the middle and
the far ends would not hear each other.

To paraphrase my flight instructor;
"the only dumb question is the one you DID NOT ask resulting in my going
out and having to identify your bits and pieces in the midst of torn
and twisted metal."
