Hi All
We need to get our database up to date. The only way to do it is for
the sysops to send in NEW coordination paperwork. Doing a NEW
coordination over the easy short renewal form doesn't mean you are
being RE coordinated. All it means is that you are filling out ALL
new information. If you were to see the information that is in the
database from over the years you would know why we are requesting the
long NEW form be filled out.
There are many reasons that we keep the database up to date and I
won't get into them here.
Below is a list of the districts and who the director is for that district.
Counties represented in each FADCA district:
VACANT District 1: Dade, Monroe
WB4KGY District 2: Broward, Martin, Palm Beach

VACANT District 6: Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry,
Highlands, Lee, Sarasota
N4KOX District 7: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Citrus, Clay,
Columbia, Dixie, Duval, FIagler,
<mailto:oderr at bellsouth.net>oderr at bellsouth.net Suwannee, Union,
Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Marion, Nassau, Putnam, St.Johns
KD4MOJ District 8: Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin,
Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon,

Okalossa, Santa Rosa, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, Washington
What I am asking everyone on the list to do is look around your area
and help the directors out. Please look around your area and see what
is on the air at this time. Get with the sysop of the device and
encourage him or her to update their devices. Also drop your director
a note on what you find. You can get their email address from the
list of districts above.
If you go to www.fadca.org and click on the button on the left that
says FADCA Coordination Policy you can read the whole policy. Below
are some parts from the policy.
3. By means of an agreement between FRC and the Florida Amateur Digital
Communications Association (FADCA), the FRC protects groups of frequencies
for digital modes, and has delegated to FADCA the task of coordinating
digital systems within these groups of frequencies.
5. Coordinations issued by FADCA shall be in accordance with the Florida
Digital Spectrum Utilization Plan as approved by FRC, and in effect at the
time of coordination.
13. Because of the ever changing state of the art and overall network changes
as the network itself grows, coordinations for backbone frequencies are
subject to annual review and change.
17. FADCA will not honor any request for an UNLISTED frequency. It is the
policy of FADCA to furnish to the ARRL all coordinated frequencies for
publication on the ARRL Repeater Directory, except as noted in paragraph
19. This policy assists in maintaining the integrity of the Digital
Spectrum Utilization Plan.
21. FADCA reserves the right to de-coordinate a device under the following
conditions:
e. Any device that has not submitted a status update report within
the last three years is subject to immediate de-coordination. If
mail sent to the latest address appearing in the FADCA Data Base
is returned undeliverable, and if the date of that address
appearing in the data base is three or more years old, the
coordination shall be deleted immediately on the date the mail is
returned.
So as you can see from the pieces above out of the coordination
policy if the devices aren't updated then they will be removed from
the database and we don't want that to happen.
I have been getting email from around the country asking about our
network since we have been working on the EMCOMM plan and this is
another reason to keep the database up to date.
I know that a lot of us have had problems with our devices in the
past year due to the storms and we still don't have things back the
way they were. This is another reason that the Database needs to be
updated using the NEW coordination form. Things have been moved from
where the database thinks they are. I know that things have moved
around a LOT in my area.
I'll stop here and wait to see the flood of new coordination
paperwork come in.
I know that Russ has had some health problems in his family so it
might take him a bit to get to your coordination request. He will get
to it. Just remember he can't do anything with your paperwork if you
don't send it in.....
It is REAL easy to do. Just go to the FADCA web site www.fadca.org
and click on the 14th button on the left (Coordination Application
Forms) and select <http://fcrosby.com/fadca/fadcanew.html>FADCA -
ON-LINE Coordination Application and Change in Coordination
Form which is the third one down.
It can't get any easier than this to get it done. You will get a copy
of the form back when you fill it out.
Please only the sysop or trustee needs to fill the form out. If you
aren't the Trustee or Sysop of the device and you have information
about a device please get with your District Director listed above.
Thank You,
73, Bill N4XEO
President and District 3 Director FADCA
