OK, folks, I have changed the trace route call from -10 on the linux
fpac box to -7, it test out just fine. I can connect to one of the fpac
boxes over in france and do a traceroute back and nothing changes
It appears that the call is for local use only. I have used -7 seems it
would be good for us to settle on a ssid so that it will be common
across the network. Now I hope to get the TelPac app up and running
today. If it works as it appears it should then it will be available as
either a app on the switch or a direct connect to the -10 call. The
nice thing is that we can set this whole thing up to be a common
call area wide, indeed we could even have something called
telpac on the switch and a level 2 connect to telpac in the presence
of a switch would return a connection directly to the app. I will be
testing all of this I hope tonight.
The ability to co-locate the telpac device as a part of the switch
means that any switch out there can be set up to forward a
connection to the switch that host the telpac app. This means that
the home devices do not need to be running all of the time and can
be either kept as standby or on line at the owner's desire.
