We all owe Russ N4KOX and Free W1NPR a round of applause for all the work
they have done in the past on the FADCA data base and web site. This
despite the fact that we have not provided timely updated information
throughout time!
We all know Russ' time with us is drawing near. (Oh.. how did that sound?)
Russ will be leaving the state to retire elsewhere and will no longer be
available for managing the database or being the chief cook and bottle
washer in FADCA District 7.
I recommend we find willing volunteers to take over Russ' efforts as soon as
possible - both to help him phase out and for his still being available to
phase in the new 10 or 12 volunteers it will take to replace him.
If this is the time to introduce a new database software program - there
could not be a better time. Database management does not have to be done by
the District 7 Director - in fact holding both a director/office in FADCA is
sufficient - as is doing database management. This is the time to get more
folks involved.
We must not wait another three to six months to get this transfer started.
Anyone who would like to volunteer for the database management work might
first contact Russ N4KOX (oderr at bellsouth.net) to learn what is involved. If
interested, then contact President Bill Sinbine (n4xeo at bellsouth.net)
directly - Bill can screen applicants and present the most likely
candidate(s) to the BOD.
Thanks Russ and Free.
