[FADCA] "Packet Node Project"?

If it's the TAPR list that is a LONG LONG ago project, maybe someone is
trying to get it alive again. North American Digital something or another. I
got
railroaded into being the administrator for all APRS digi's back in the day
when APRS was all over the 2M bandplan and it had a purpose. A year or 2
later
APRS was 99% on 144.39 and actually TAPR started to fade a bit with the
change of the helm.
Well anyway...I un-volunteered myself citing the reason that APRS no longer
needed a database and 90% of the entries I got were from other countries
(which was not it's intent), regular packet nodes (not in my relm) and just
plain old packet questions entered in a frequency directory of all things.
So Joel don't worry, if it's the TAPR directory it's valid, if you wish to
reply or not it's up to each individual person. I have not heard mention
though on any of the TAPR lists I monitor or moderate including the
administrator list about the directory coming back to life. Things can be a
bit crazy at times
in that orginization.

Hi De Joel N4JOA, I got a letter from this guy (W5ONL), same info he
says the TAPR data base has N4JOA listed as a node. He said the reason
i got a letter was...he had no e-mail address for me. I was going to
respond but maybe i will wait and see what the rest of you think about
this. My station is not officially a node or a swsitch. Just a full
service BBS with the digi mode active on 145.03 (WPB K4PKT-8 LAN).
...73's... Joel N4JOA
