I think that others may have been looking at it but sounds like you have
got down the road a piece.
Yes there are I guess 4 files that need to be modified, what we need is
a unified tool that takes you down through them like the setup for a new
OS install. In fact that is my idea, you stick the CD in a drive and it boots,
it will either let you store the config data into some other storage OR it will
let you load the whole deal into a HD of some sort and it prompts you for
the data to set up the machine. That gets way out of my area, I mean light
years out....
There are some other people on the FADCA list that are familiar with the
process, indeed I think that some are also working on bits and piecies of
it, perhaps they will jump in and you all can start exchanging info and files
and come up with a unified installer that will take care of the whole thing.
Indeed it needs to prompt you for what other facilities you need, i.e. Telpac,
BBS, etc. For a switch you do not even need a GUI so do not install it unless
it is asked for. If we could get it down to where it would prompt the switch op
for all of the data and then fill up the proper files that would be the best of
all worlds.

out and having to identify your bits and pieces in the midst of torn
