Virgil,
We need to get a new radio for the 2m side of things. It appears that the radio
has problems and we are going to probably have to replace it. I am trying to
get a commercial grade radio in it's place as the present one is a amateur
grade radio and I think it has both power and stability issues. I can
hit it from
just about anywhere around here, but when you get beyond about 5-8 miles
distance you can no longer receive it very well. I have been testing it from
my van and there is a definite issue with the TX side. The antenna is a dual
bander and the 9k6 440 side can be hit from all over the place no problem
whatsoever.
