John.
I guess I should have asked what part did not change.
Just by blocking the reading of the keyboard config file
you will avoid the keyboard being put into french. But if
you are asking about the connect greeting and I think a
info file they are in the AX25 directory, and are as follows
fpac.hello
This is the connect greeting from the switch, in this case
they have the following translated from the french:
Good day, this is the LINUX FPAC node F6FBB located in
Roquettes, situated about 15 Km south of Toulouse in JN03QL

The other one is
fpac.info
It has the following message again a translation from
French:
LINUX FPAC Node

Located in Roquettes (31)
Locator JN03QL

I think that all the rest is in English. I am working on
a "kp4djt" disk and as soon as I have it up and running will
send you a copy, but I hope that others will start poking at
it. Use vi editor (comes on every linux out there) to edit
the files and poke it in a pc with two ports and give it a
try.

I will send you a image with what I have done in it for you
to look at, but if you want to start, you can go and hit those
two files first. also the DNIC file.

Then you will want to look at the configuration file, with
FPAC LINUX there is only one configuration file unlike DOS
which had 3 of them.
