I guess from my perspective the KISS thing is the big one.
I was thinking about LINUX also, but LINUXFBB works well
on that OS so why worry right now, it would be nice to see
another option later on, though the NOS boxes (TNOS and JNOS)
do a very good job and indeed the 411 and 555.1212 services
here in Tampa were a TNOS box that intercepted calls to those
functions and presented the 411 and 555.1212 menus.
I would get KISS going prior to trying to get any other of
the TNC interfaces going, most of them will run a basic KISS
mode, then once that is done you can build on that for the
others. Once you have KISS in there then it is quite easy to
drop a cable between two PC's one being a switch and the other
the BBS, then they can talk in KISS mode.
