This is where you can use the IF option in fbb routing. You can set it up
that after say 15 hours and you can't connect to Earl then it would go to
bud and he can deliver it. This is not a problem. but you should only have
the one backup route.

This is also true. BUT this whole thread came from how are we going to
route nts.
You can use the same theme here. Only forward whatever zipcode to whatever
bbs. This is where the list of who is who comes in. Since I am in 34987
then if you would have a 34987@ntsfl you would have to use your swap file
to swap 34987@ntsfl to 34987@n4xeo. If all the bbs's had their swap or
routing files set up this way it wouldn't matter if you sent the message to
5 different bbs's. I would only get the one because of the bid on the
message. I might have more than one bbs try and send it to me but the bid
would just reject them. This is another place that forwarding by only the
callsign in state works...
