Hi Virgil

I would use the PacComm line of tnc's if it was me. You can get the Tiny-2 
for $169.00 and if you wanted to run open squelch (which you should on a 
switch) add $35.00 for the board. This would take care of your 1200 baud 
setup. For 9k6 I would use the Spirit-2 node model at $269.00. This comes 
with the modems for both 9k6 and 19,200. You will still be able to use your 
kpc3 for your user station at the house and get some one else on or use the 
second one for a Telpac port!

I just looked up the 9612 at the HRO web site and it is $349.00 so the 
PacComm Spirit-2 node tnc would be cheaper for 9k6 unless you really needed 
to switch between both baud rates and you would already have the 19,200 
modem installed.
PLUS you would be supporting a small business in the process!!!!

The nice things about the PacComm tnc's are one that they are right in your 
back yard, you can just go by and see Linda and two it is a TRUE tnc-2 clone.
It will be interesting to see how the kpc 9612 work out in a hard use setup 
that bud is going to use them at the Melbourne site.
