All,

If I can help out in any way with the Telpac demo for the Tampa Hamfest
please let me know.

Vic Poor and I have released a new beta version of Paclink, a new user
client program for Packet that uses Outlook/Outlook express as the primary
user interface. Paclink operates with the AGW Packet engine so supports
virtually all TNCs including sound card TNCs. With this latest release
(1.0.0) it also supports full binary compression transfers (FBB B1 and
below) as well as WL2K's B2F protocol which supports attachments and mixed
addresses. Paclink will auto forward with FBB as well as WL2K/Telpac packet
nodes and also will provide a Telnet interface for WL2K and FBB Telnet
ports.

Paclink requires installing the Microsoft .NET framework if you do not have
it installed. This is available from the web (25 Mb) or on the
Paclink/Telpac CD. If anyone is interested in a CD please send me your
mailing address and I will get one out immediately. The Free CD contains the
latest Paclink, Telpac, installation guide along with recent articles and
papers as well as the MS .NET framework.

Since the article on Telpac in the October QST we have had over 90 Telpac
nodes set up and registered. (See www.winlink.org/Telpac.aspx ) Many of
these stations are set up specifically to aid EMCOMMS operations.

In the future we hope to provide a mechanism for a HF bridge from Packet
networks isolated from the Internet.

Best of luck to all of you that are contributing to the FPAC switch and the
Tampa LAN. Let me know if you need any support or additional educational or
presentation materials.
