This morning I received the following information from Gary Sessums KC5QCN
regarding recent progress in the Tampa Area. Gary also reports having a
good candidate site near Plant City which should be able to link to a site
in Clermont when we have one there. That would provide the long-awaited
cross-state link in Central Florida between Orlando and Tampa.
Congratulations and much thanks to Gary, Tom, Chuck and all the helpers.

Gentlemen:
13 days and counting until the Florida Amateur Digital Communication
Association (FADCA) forum presentation at the Tampa Bay hamfest on
Saturday December 6th at the Manatee Convention Center located in Palmetto,
FL.
The TPALAN amateur radio club now has several Tampa area FPAC switches back
on the air.
KM0SI-9 (813987) using a VHF frequency of 145.670 MHz,
KC5QCN-9 (813224) using a VHF frequency of 144.910 MHz
W4DPH-9 (727442) using a VHF frequency of 145.050 MHz
The KC5QCN-9 switch is linked with the W4DPH-9 switch and BBS via a 9600
backbone connection on UHF frequency of 431.025 MHz.
The downtown Tampa switch has solid 24/7 connectivity to KN4YT-9 (863410) in
Arcadia via a 9600 backbone connection on UHF frequency 446.050 MHz.
One of our TPALAN members is playing with the TELPAC software and we should
have a TELPAC ham radio to Internet gateway connectivity on-line in the
next several days, at least by the hamfest to support Bud and his forum
presentation.
Since Tampa is able to solidly connect to Arcadia, if Doug can check his
Arcadia switch configuration we should be able to connect to the East coast
of Florida and the rest of the FADCA network on a 24/7 basis.
Most of the re-installation of hardware and running of coax for new
antennas has been completed. With a few minor software configuration
changes in various switches located in the FADCA network, TPALAN should be
all set to support Bud and his FADCA forum and demonstration during the
hamfest on December 6th.
Thanks for all of your hard work in getting this system back up and running.
Gary
