HAMCATION 2003 - FADCA FORUM Saturday Feb 8 1230 - 1400EST

My feeling is this should be mostly information rather than "business". We
might report on recent actions of the board, the bottom line treasurer's
report, and keep that part to less than five minutes. Here are some ideas
for the rest of the forum including who I suggest might put the presentation
together.

Presentations:

10 minutes - Basic FPAC - how the switch works, how to use it. Live demo
might be available but don't count on it yet. (WB4KGY or WB4MOZ)

10 minutes - Present network status; near term fixes, updates; how to use
the network map, what the network might look like in one year (N0IA - who
will need updates from WB4MOZ and N4KOX) - Or if WB4MOZ wants to make this
presentation all the better!

10 minutes - Winlink 2K - Ham-to-e-mail program. How it works on HF and
vhf. (KN6KB)

10 minutes - TELPAC - how it works (KN6KB)

10 minutes - Basic Emergency Communications support by digital through use
of the Layered Packet Network. Last Mile concept, etc. (N0IA)

15 minutes - Basics of the ARRL wideband 2.4 GHz proposal and how this might
fit in with the Florida Layered Packet network (Who? Chuck- are you the
one? Who else wants to handle this?)

HELP!

Remainder of time - Overall Q&A -

What else? Paul N4AR- any suggestions?

PROJECTION EQUIPMENT

Free W1NPR may be able to get a projector.. (Keith KI'm hoping I can find a
screen.. If so.. these presentations could be put on Power Point or MS Word
slides and we could have them all loaded on a single laptop and ready to go.
I have recently ordered a remote mouse/Laser pointer - hope it works! If
each presenter would e-mail me a Power Point or MS Word slide file, Charlie
N3PPC and I can set all up on a single laptop and have it ready to go. This
would facilitate changing presenters w/o fumbling and bumbling with changing
A/V stuff.
