Hi, Dale:
Glad you noticed the new digi (Aloma and Forsythe)!. This is about 5 miles
due East of the old Orlando FPAC site at Lee Road and I-4. It is coordinated
with the FADCA frequency coordinator but should be considered a temporary
device.
The antenna is at 85 ft and the location is 20 miles from my QTH where the
Orlando FPAC network switch is located temporarily. There could be some
shadowing to the NW from the antenna, but the digi should allow most of
Orange and Seminole Counties to again have connectivity to the Orlando FPAC
switch and the network I tested it yesterday and Jacksonville BBS responded
just as before.
Dan KA0OXH and I installed it Saturday and we are still testing. I hope to
be able to publish a more detailed "How To" yet today or tomorrow.
Meanwhile, on the Orlando LAN (145.07) do this:
C MCO
or
C KA0OXH-7
That will put you on the KA-Node at Aloma and Forsythe.
>From there you can enter any command you need to use the W4PLB-8/9 Orlando
FPAC switch.
>From the KA-Node you can connect to N3PPC BBS (Sanford) as well -either
directly (C N3PPC) or using the quick connect C W4PLB-2.
Rest assured this is a temporary fix as we will move the Orlando FPAC switch
to a more appropriate site as soon as one can be secured.
