Bob - the story gets a tad better...

On the HF transfer from my Airmail in Delton to the Dallas WL2K - I checked
the Airmail outbox and found the file was actually 34.7KB.

Then I set up a 29.1KB ASCII text file and sent it from my FBBBBS to N3PPC
FBBBBS on the packet network. Route goes like this - all 1200b with
excellent conditions and no competition.

My QTH to DeLand FPAC (13 miles) 144.91
to
DeLand UHF backbone to Orlando FPAC (at my QTH!)

to N3PPC BBS (5 miles) on 145.07.

The total time from my presenting the bid until Charlie's end disconnected
was 3min 30sec.
