After I made my previous comments to you about
digital voice, I fired up SpeakFreely on my two
company machines where I am testing our software
running over AX.25 UI packets. I am using a couple
of Tiny 2's with 2k4 baud modems in them. They are
talking over a couple of FRS radios (I did that so
I could show our people at work that our software
can go almost anywhere we can send data).
Anyhow I fired up SpeakFreely and selected the
LPC-10 compression using the SpeakFreely protocol,
that said I then established a link over my 2k4
path via the FRS radios and indeed it was a bit
jerky but quite understandable. I will be setting
up 9k6 over the next few days and will give you
a report on the difference, but the test shows
that we can move audio between points using our
network, perhaps in this case you might send
the voice and larger blocks of data, I am going
to look deep into SpeakFreely and see if there is
a way to cause it to block voice data into larger
blocks so you do not get as many breaks between
sylables.
Pull it down and give it a try you might well
be suprised at what you can do.
