Rick W4RP and crew has re installed the Melbourne FPAC switch back at it's
normal location today. It is a very big step in getting the packet backbone
back on line on the east coast. There seems to be a problem with the 2
meter LAN radio at this time and it will be looked at maybe over the weekend.

Rick has connected to my bbs in Fort Pierce and left me a message so the
backbone does work from Melbourne to Fort Pierce and points south. I will
be getting with Rick in the very near future to help set up a FBB bbs for
the Melbourne area.

Once again, I would like to thank Rick W4rp and everyone else involved in
getting the switch back on line.

I also want to thank Bud N0IA for getting the ball rolling to get our
packet network back into a forward moving project. Bud has done the VERY
time consuming task of getting everyone fired up again....Also thanks to
Sally for letting him do it!!!!

Well enough thanks for now.......We still have a lot of work in the
planning stage like getting the link back on the air from Jacksonville to
Tallahassee. There is also a lot of work and thoughts going on around the
rest of the state working on filling the "black holes" that we have in our
network. There has been talk about getting some of the problems in the
Tampa area turned around also. It is a shame that the digital meeting in
Tallahassee was canceled. When we were planning on going to it there were a
bunch of posts on this list about "Packet"!! Lets get the messages and
thoughts flowing again so we can keep moving FORWARD with our NEVER ending
project!!!
