Folks,
Charlie has a good idea here. A document such as that he is
talking about would be a boon to all of us. Whatever way we
can help would be a great step.

He posted this on the FPAC DOS list, and I am putting it on
the FPAC list and the FADCA list.

Subject: [Fpac] Linux Help

I posted this directly to Chuck Hasp....
He suggested I also post it to the News group.

There is a large push to migrate our Packet software to Linux. However, many
of are not ready to begin learning as new OS. That plays directly into MS's
strategy.

I have Redhat & SUSE distributions of Linux & have used them to build
several systems for practice. I have conquered the GUI, but the command line
mode of operation still trips me up. That puts me somewhere in the beginner
category. I also have several old hardware systems that can be used as test
beds.
What I would like to do is generate a doc with instructions on building a
system to support FPAC & or FBB BBS . That would make it somewhat attractive
for the Newbe to migrate to Linux
I'll do the research & write the docs, but I need someone to guide the
process.
Like the FPAC (American Version) docs... we can post them @ N4ZKF.com
