Well it is official !!!!

FADCA will be going to the meeting. As far as I know, there will be at
least 6 FADCA members going so we should be able to "back Bud up " if
needed with any answers.

Mr. John Fleming

Dear John:

This will confirm a discussion you had today with 'Bud' Thompson, N0IA of
Deltona while visiting the Seminole County EOC in Sanford. The Florida
Amateur Digital Communications Association (FADCA) looks forward to Bud's
making a presentation during the SEDAN meeting at the State EOC in
Tallahassee on May 4th.

For the 45-60 minute presentation Bud will need a computer-to-screen
projector for his MS Power Point visuals. For the on-the-air
demonstration, access to a multi-band, coax-fed HF antenna that will cover
40 and 20 meters without need for a manual antenna tuner will be needed. It
would be beneficial if the antenna also could be used on 30 meters. He
would also like access to a two meter antenna unless he could connect to
the SEDAN or other two meter MBX/BBS there in the EOC with an inside
antenna or dummy load. He will bring the radios and all hardware needed for
the demonstration.

Various members of FADCA have been working on and sponsoring a layered
packet network throughout the state in support of emergency communications
at the local level. As you know, there is difficulty in getting digital
messages to the State EOC from many places throughout the length of the
state. Likewise, digital messages cannot presently be moved from just any
place to just any other place in the state due to the lack of an integrated
network/system that covers the state 24/7.

FADCA appreciates the opportunity to make a presentation, proposal, and
demonstration at the SEDAN system meeting on May 4th and to meet you and
others who are interested in this important aspect of public service. I
feel that once you have experienced the presentation and demonstration, you
will understand that the total integrated approach we are sponsoring will
be worthy of consideration for inclusion in your plans.

Please contact bud Thompson, N0IA by e-mail: [email protected], by
telephone (386) 574-4124, or mail at 1131 Abady Court, Deltona, FL 32725
for any additional information..

We are looking forward to visiting on May 4th.

Sincerely yours,

Bill Sinbine, N4XEO, President
FADCA
