[ETS/PARC List] TOUCH-TONES ON K2ETS

Members;

    I monitor the K2ETS repeaters quite often, and have observed an
operating practice that MUST be corrected.



Touch-Tones sent on the repeater can be for AllStar use, OR to control the
repeater. As such, control operators need to know WHO is sending tones.

If you do not identify yourself, a control operator must assume you are a
hacker trying to access the repeater.



You need to identify your station BEFORE sending tones.



The correct practice needs to be as follows:



Key up and say " K2XXX sending tones " followed by the sequence. It's that
easy.



We need to make this the ONLY acceptable way to use our system.



In fact, this should be common practice on ANY repeater you use tones on!
