Hey Folks --
The LIFETIME national parks pass for seniors (age 62+) is going up by
800% (no joke!) from $10 to $80 on August 28th. It's a great deal -- you
get substantial discounts (up to 50%) on fees to the 2000+ national
parks, and since many of these are car fees and boat rentals, etc.,
anyone else in the vehicle (even if they are younger) also gets in. I
know they sell these at Sandy Hook NJ, but you can probably buy them at
Independence Hall in Philly or any other major national park. Just be
sure to bring proof of age (current driver's license or passport should
suffice) when you go.
Here's the AARP article about it:
http://travel.aarp.org/articles-tips/articles/info-2016/national-parks-lifetime-pass-cost-increase.html
And more clarification at NPS:
https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm#CP_JUMP_5088578
If you're not lucky enough (ha!) to be 62+ in time to take advantage of
this deal, just let some of your oldster friends know!
Enjoy!
Rebecca KA3IAX.
