Good Afternoon –

As you know, for the past month we have been collecting data regarding
malicious interference to the metro New York repeaters.

Over this past weekend, we are informed that an allegedly unlicensed
individual was arrested and was charged, in part, with making an
unlicensed radio call on an NYPD frequency.  It is my understanding
that the phone number of the Assistant District Attorney who is
handling this case has become public knowledge and is circulating
around.  Some have even said that they have been told to call the ADA.


THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN.  I do not know who is responsible for this
misinformation.  Whoever told anyone to call the ADA is wrong.  Please
do not call anyone in law enforcement or in any way connected with the
criminal case. Your complaints are not relevant in any way.

I especially want to address the members of LIMARC, who have been the
folks who have suffered the most from malicious interference over the
past decade.  I understand and share your frustration.  I have asked
your president to ask the club to no longer circulate the ADA’s phone
number, to not call, and to not take any action at this time.

Over the past month I have been in touch with the FCC and there has
been movement in connection with Amateur Radio malicious interference
in our area.  Let’s continue the path we’ve been following recently
and see this issue through to a successful and permanent conclusion.
Thanks so much for the good work that you have done in support of our
effort. You have done a great job.
