There is lots of talk about Microsoft's newest operating system Windows 10 since its release on July 29, 2015. Upgrading your personal machine at home is one thing. But is it time to upgrade your entire company? Probably not.
Below is a list of software that are NOT COMPATIBLE with Windows 10 at this time:
* Sage products
* Blackbaud products including Raiser's Edge
* FileMaker Server 14 and earlier
* FileMaker Pro 13 and earlier (v14 is deemed compatible with known errors)
* OnScreen Takeoff versions earlier than v.3.93 (v.3.93 is compatible)
* AutoCad 2014 and earlier (2015 is supported with known errors)
* Quickbooks 2014 and earlier (2015 is deemed compatible with known errors)
Many enterprise-grade software products are not yet fully compatible with Windows 10. Microsoft has not yet released the full version and most software manufacturers need to test against the full version before they can certify full compatibility. Upgrading at this time may lead to issues with software that staff need to perform their daily work. This can result in downtime, performance issues and potential data issues depending on how the software reacts to Windows 10.
Even after a company fully certifies compatibility with Windows 10 it may be a good idea to wait until all the bugs are worked out.
