Subject: TCRA Special Program

The Tri-County Radio Association is having a special presentation at our meeting on Monday September 21.  Our featured speaker will discuss ladder safety.  As some of you know, our President, Nelson DeSousa, fell from a ladder in May breaking both his feet while doing an antenna raising at a club member’s home.  He realized afterward that in many regards HAMs are not aware of ladder safety...or at least he wasn't and therefore he thought all HAMs in TCRA and beyond would benefit from such a presentation. The ARRL amateur radio license exams focus on tower safety but most of us can't afford towers and use our houses for antenna placement...which means we have to get on a ladder.
Our speaker is Phil Solomon who is a certified instructor in many fields including OSHA requirements and ladder safety. Phil (KD2FGH) is also a HAM and will gear the discussion and presentation with the amateur radio community in mind.
