NJ Marathon: Volunteers Needed

The 17th New Jersey Marathon will take place in about two weeks on 
Sunday April 27th. It will take place in Monmouth County along the shore 
from Long Branch to Ocean Grove.

Volunteer Amateur Radio Communicators are needed to man all the check 
points along the route. There could be about 15,000 runners involved. As 
you might guess, this is a large event. There will be about 1200 to 1500 
volunteers needed to run it.

If you are interested in using your communications skills and equipment, 
please go to http://www.nject.us for more information or send an email 
to info at nject.us to sign up. Please state your name, call sign, and cell 
phone.

You will need a portable radio with extra batteries among other things. 
A tentative Communications meeting is scheduled for Friday April 25th, 
with the location to be determined. Attendance at the meeting is not 
mandatory.
