Subject: [ETS/PARC List] ETS Meeting this Friday 7/30
Date: Tue, 27 Jul 2010 09:50:43 EDT

Meeting this Friday: July 30, 2010
Place: Clark Municipal Building, 430 Westfield Ave, Clark NJ 07066
Time: 8:00 PM
Usual announcement will be made on the repeater.
Reminder: Please send in any unpaid dues for 2010 - Support YOUR
clubRemaining meetings for 2010: 7/30, 8/27, 9/24, 10/29, and 12/3

Just a reminder - the July monthly meeting is this Friday at 8 pm at the
Clark Municipal Building. There will be a presentation (and hopefully a
demonstration) of a computer based repeater controller by members of the
Raritan Valley Radio Club that we are considering for both the 2 meter and
220 machines. This system with provide a significant upgrade to the
repeaters and bring them both into the 21st century. Please make every
effort to join us, I am sure you will find the presentation very
interesting
and the club would really like everyone's input and opinions.
Also, you should have received an invitation to the annual picnic. This
year
there will be a free drawing for a 2 Meter / 220 HT (limited to licensed
amateur's with a paid admission). Please RSVP as soon as you are able.
Thanks for your time and consideration; I hope to see you on Friday.
73, Joe Cash W2OZO President Electronic Technology Society of NJ, Inc.

Minutes of the June 25th meeting:

The meeting was called to Order at the Clark Municipal Building by
President Joe W2OZO at 8:10 PM, starting with the Pledge of Allegiance
and roll call.
Victor, KC2NBC, read minutes of last meeting.
Dennis, W2IU moved to except, seconded by Gerry, K2MD.
Treasurer’s Report - Victor, KC2NBC stated that the current balance was
$xxx.xx.
Accepted by Tim, AB2ZK and seconded by Drew, W2OU.
Correspondence - No correspondence was reported. Nothing heard back from
Somerset County.
Technical Report – No report was given. The club still has not heard back
from MetroCor.
Old Business – Regarding the annual picnic, Walter, W2WIQ brought up the
subject of members making a comment to attend and then not showing up.
Victor, KC2NBC confirmed that a number of members say that they will be
attending our functions, but holdout payment to the day of the affair and then
never show up. This presents an unfair expense to the club as the amount of
food is pre-ordered based on the anticipated number of persons attending. Joe,
W2OZO asked for comments. There was a lengthy discussion involving many of
the attending members on how to address this matter. It was decided that
August 15th would be the cutoff date for members to confirm the number
attending the picnic. Rich, W2PQ stated that since the club’s treasury was low,
due to the expense of the new repeater site, that the cost to attend the
picnic be increased this year. Joe, W2OZO again asked for comments. After
another lengthy discussion it was decided that the cost of the picnic this
year would be increased to $15 for members and family, $20 for guests, and
$7.50 for kids. Rich, W2PQ asked Walter, W2WIQ to inquire from Buona Pizza
what the “cost per person” would be.
New Business – Joe, W2OZO informed the members that Eric, NW2P would be
having Field Day at his home qth. Rich, W2PQ suggested that the picnic be
moved to an earlier date to give more time between the picnic and the Holiday
Party and to have the club look into the possibility of a joint Holiday
Party with RVRC, our sister club. Drew, W2OU stated that there were
membership applications that were not being addressed at the meetings. To move the
process along Drew made a motion to have the club use the FCC database as
confirmation that the applicant holds a valid license. Frank, KG2CJ made a
motion to accept and was seconded by Dennis, W2IU. Membership applications
and payments were received from Dave Vadney Jr., KC2YRB and Dan, KC2YRC.
50/50 - A total of $69.00 was collected. The 50/50 was won by K2MOM.
Motion to adjourn was made by Dennis, W2IU and seconded by Gerry, W2MD.
Meeting closed at 10:04 PM.
There are 19 names on the sign-in sheet with 19members
Respectfully submitted (with a LOT of help from Victor KC2NBC) - Jeff Lih
