Hey Mr Know it All,
It seems the ham bug has bitten me again. It started
with a visit by the Office of Thrift Spuervision and
an auditor wa3adi. Inspitye of him being an auditor he
is an active ham and has all sorts of gear in his car.
Anyway he has a small icom ht that xmits on 2/440. But
what intrests me is the rx that has from 30 - 900 mhz
+ am / fm. I could pick up alot of the local fire /
police which is interesting. Mt yaesu ft-470 doesn't
have that kind of coverage, even with mods. 

My specific question is what king of ht for dual band
2/440  would u suggest. I would like to also have the
police and fire / wx also. With all the info you hear
or from your own experiences, which one would you
suggest. Size isn't important since they are all
pretty small. I would like to stay away from the l-ion
batteries since I just picked up a MAHA battery
charger. If yopu get a chance and have some input I'd
sure appreciate it. Thanks in advance
